Attention: To align with new corporate security policies, and to match policies adopted by other communities within Oracle, the My Oracle Support Community access requirements will change beginning September 18, 2025. MOSC will now require that member accounts in our community be associated to a *corporate* email address. Hi, i was wondering why i needed no password in issuing this select statement over the sqlplus command in their Oracle Enterprise 10g DB ?

I ran this sqlplus / as sysdba in command prompt .

select * from xxxxxxxxxxxxxx , it worked but required no password

in some customers' site, it does require password to issue the command ? Eg sys : sys or PD910 : PD910, jdedata910 : jdedata910

Pls help clarify
