VAT no longer working on invoice work bench

I setup on the VAT on E-Business and it was working perfectly on the Invoice workbench. After the application of some patches to correct some errors in purchasing module the following issues were discovered;

1. The Calculate Tax on the invoice workbench is no longer creating the VAT

2. Tax details can not be updated manually as the tax lines summary can not be updated ; "FRM-40350:Query caused no records to be retrieved.

What could be the issue?
