What is the best way to update a project code on an asset?

It appears as though updating the project code in Basic Add does not update the tables, but updating the project code via a transfer on the Cost Adjust/Transfer Asset panel seems to update the tables.  Is this the best way to update an incorrect project code or can you recommend a better method for updating?
