Updating Assets on Existing Work Order
Our maintenance department has complaint that it is difficult sometimes to assign the work and equipment costs to the actual work performed due to the below system restriction in Oracle eAM.
The work order is assigned to the equipment before the maintenance of the asset is complete.
The maintenance tech goes and tries to fix the asset, troubleshoots the problem, and finds that the real cause of the problem is a different asset further down the line.
In Oracle the work order is already created; and the asset that is assigned to that work order cannot be changed; so the costs assigned to the work order are assigned to the incorrect asset and cannot be changed.
