Archiver process using paging space on AIX server and causing performance issue.

Hell All,

In one of our database Archiver process using paging space on AIX server and causing performance issue. There are 4 arch processes running from DB startup but suddenly it stared to consume more PGA and paging space.No workload on database.Please advise, what could be the issue and how resolve it?
