Auto complete feature not working in IP2013 (8.1.1.11)

Hi,

Auto complete on static pick list is working only after opening the drop down but the expectation was when focus is on the field and user starts typing , auto complete should work. I think this is working as expected in IP 2015.

Is this a bug in IP2013 and is there a work around?
