/home/oracle/.profile keeps reverting - how to trap changes to the file

On our new X5 the /home/oracle/.profile file keeps getting two lines appended to it.  We don't know what process or person is changing this file.

We need to find out where this is coming from and prevent it.

Does anybody have an implementation of inotifywait or something similar for Linux?
