Infrastructure upgrade - lift-and-shift

Hi community members!

My organisation is currently preparing for the infrastructure upgrade (running as400- current hardware end of life), I was wondering if it's possible to "lift and shift" existing JDE application - restore from a backup/image to a new hardware?

Is the installation of JDE is required each time I upgrade underlying infrastructure? Currently running JDE E1 9.0 and tools 8.98. Much appreciate your feedback on experience with these type of upgrades...
