Can a "Solaris 11 local repository" be placed in corporate shared drive?

Snip from the system requirement:

Disk space

To host a copy of the Oracle Solaris 11.2 release repository, the repository server must have 16 gigabytes of free space.

Q: What if the I want to have that repository located in corporate shared drive? would that work though I won't be able to create ZFS filesystem?
