Question 1: Is it possible to deactivate an Address Book record?

Answer 1: While there is no specific flag to deactivate a record in the Address Book Master (P01012), you can use the following options to prevent users from entering invoices or vouchers:

  • Setup a Search Type in UDC 01/ST to identify inactive records; for example "IN"
  • Change the Search Type to "IN" for those Address Book records that you no longer whish to use
  • Add Row Security to Address Book Master (F0101) for Search Type "IN". You have the option to disallow the users from Adding, Changing, Viewing and Deleting records
