for what is period_num column in Open Interface Table (AIF_)?

hi,

I try to create integration ERP system with HFM and I want to use Open Interface Table. I have problem with understanding what should be in Period_num column in AIF_* table? how it should be numbered?

i.e

Q1 2011 - 1

Q2 2011 - 2

...

Q1 2012 - should be 1  (from the beginning in next year) or 5 (continue)?

And second question: what is different between 'explicit' and 'adjustment' period mapping?
