No deprecation being calculated for a new group asset

I have added a new group asset but there is not any depreciation being calculated.  In the open_trans table my CALC_DEPR_STATUS = I, CALC_DIST_STATUS=P, AND CALC_REPT_STATUS=P.  What do I need to do to get this group asset to start calculating some depreciation?  On the Cost table the GRP_DEPR_CALC_STAT is blank.
