recognize LTO buffer underruns with libraries like SL150

I wonder how we could recognize LTO buffer underruns with libraries like Oracle Storagetek SL150, in order to see insufficient data rates and avoid shoeshining:

With HP libraries, there is a special software available for that purpose: "HP StoreEver MSL TapeAssure Advanced"

Has Oracle something comparable to offer?

I believe that the backup software is usually agnostic of these issues.
