Can we use patch edition in R12.2.4 for any development and Migration activity

Hi Team,

One of my customer is having below concern, can you please suggest.

We have implemented R12.2.4.Can we use Patch edition for development/migration when already run edition in use by users.

If we apply any db level changes on patch edition whether it will effect run edition and is there any impact if use patch edition for development/Migration?

If we are able to deploy anything in patch edition is possible, we have a doubt that if we are altering a table in patch edition and user also using the same table in run edition what will be the impact on system because Table is a non edition-able object.
