Oracle 12c GI home growing

We noticed on testing 12.1.0.2 GI home (ASM) that the size of the directories was growing rather large with each PSU.  There is $Grid_home/.patch_storage directory that seems to contain each PSU as they're applied.  Anyone know if they can be cleaned up?  I wasn't able to find a knowledge-base article on that subject.  Thanks.
