Process Manufacturing with Actual Costing

Hi all

I know that Process Manufacturing is not recommended for use with Actual Costing (09 Cost Method) but can't find the exact reasons why.  Does anybody know why this is?  I have a client where process manufacturing would be ideal but due to how they procure raw material, actual costing is necessary.
