How to change gateway and nameservers on ODA?

We want to configure a new default gateway and a new set of nameservers to be used by our ODA. I know we can configure some of this with "oakcli configure firstnet", but from what I understand this isn't a good command if we want to modify an existing setup. I can't seem to find any other "oakcli" command to modify this either. Should we just do the changes manually in /etc/resolv.conf and /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-net1, and not worry much about /opt/oracle/oak/conf/dom0.xml ?

(Our ODA is X4-2, currently running 12.1.2.1.0, soon to be upgraded to 12.1.2.3.0)
