Serial number generation, need to understand function of API- INV_SERIAL_NUMBER_PUB.GENERATE_SERIALS

Hello,

We are generating serial numbers thru Oracle seeded program - Serial number generation.

And serial number is generated in below format,

H15K799107

H15K799127

H15K799128

Need to understand, how this 'K' (4th place in serial numbers above) is getting populated.

We don't have any STARTING PREFIX defined and serial generation is set to PREDEFINED.

Later we checked more on this and can see that, Oracle api - INV_SERIAL_NUMBER_PUB.GENERATE_SERIALS.

Please provide any clue/note id, if anyone has information on this.
