Need details on SIM Application Server restart

We are facing some issues in SIM for that we have applied the patch in Test ENV and confirmed that it is working fine. Now we need to migrate the deployment to PROD. We would like to know the

1. how we can restart the SIM Application Server.

2. What are the prerequisites we need to follow before restarting the SIM APP Server like Shutting down RIB for SIM etc.

3. We are using the Webservices between the POS and SIM. What will be the possible issues may occur/what we need to take care on POS side before restart?

4. What validations we can do after restart to make sure that the application is running normally.
