How to not have any FA period open?

We have closed out an entity and associated ledger and FA ledger. All periods are closed in GL, but next period got opened up for FA when we ran the depreciation and closed the last period. There is no FA activity in new period allowed due to company # being end dated, FA book being disabled etc. However, the depreciation can still be run, but create accounting fails due to GL not open. So we have enough safeguards to prevent posting anything in GL, however I’m wondering if there is a way to not have any FA period open at
