is it required to download all the database software when we are planning to upgrade only 12.2 appli

Hi Team,

We have 11.2.0.4 database and 12.1.2 E-business applications.

We are planning to upgrade to 12.2.x from 12.1.2, so can we skip the database  related software  like 11.2.0.3, VISION and PROD software?

Wanted to download only apps related software, is there any impact when we build stage area in 12.2 or is it mandatory to download all software including database software.

Please suggest.
