R12.2.4 - Delete customers funding a contract project

We have customer assigned to a contract project. The funding has been baselined using the customer agreement. Now there is change in the customer on the project, so we want to delete the customer and replace with a new customer. However, system gives error -

You cannot delete this project customer; it is funding the project

How can we resolve this issue?
