add bigger disks to existing pool
Hi,
Background:
I have a ZFS Storage 7420 with 6 Sun Disk Shelves (DS2) attached, homing 3TB disks.
I have one big zpool (132 disks for data+parity) with double-parity RAID and NSPF (no single point of failure).
I want to increase the capacity, but the available disk enclosures DE2-24C now have 4TB disks installed.
Question:
What happens, when I add 4TB disks from the new enclosure to the existing 3TB-disks pool (keeping DP-RAID and NSPF)?
I could think about two possibilities:
(A) Only the first 3TB of the new disks are used; this would mean wasting about 140TB (1TB per disk).
