Regarding secondary ledgers in GL

Hi,

Its easy to define a secondary ledger by going to acounting setup manager page.

However how do i see actual data in secondary ledgers?

Do i need to create a new responsibility and then assign GL:ledger name  profile option for this new secondary ledger for this new responsibility to see the data in secondary ledger?

suppose my conversion level is journal level or subledger level and i defined these secondary ledgers after 5 months of go live.

will the posting porgram( for journal level) or create accounting programs(for subledger level) will take care of historical data to be visible in secondary ledgers?
