I have a created a combined report (using Accounts and CO 1) that continues to error

I want to show all accounts whether they have a record in CO1 or not.  I am using checkbox fields and need to 'blank' out these fields in the second analysis.  I have tried 0 and '' and contiue to recieve an error when trying to run the report.  Is there a special character that I need to use to be sure the field is included but blank.
