Updating the Priority on a Project is prompting me for a valid end date

In Agile 9.3.4 PPM, I am trying to update the priority (we renamed weight)on a project task, but I am getting an error message stating "Please enter a valid time for the estimated end date".  Since priority is just a weighted value, why is it asking for date changes?
