What happens with Uncompleted Work Orders from a previous period, if you continue with Period Close?

What happens with Uncompleted Work Orders from a previous period, if you continue with Period Close?

When trying to close a Period, and there exists Uncompleted Work Orders, the system allows me to close anyway. I want to know what happen with those work orders, and what is the way we should do with it, after closing the period.
