db in OEM shows down, but actually up

Hi:

We are using OEM version 12.1.0.2.0. I have several databases registered in OEM for monitor. Most of the databases are fine. But two of those show the status as down in OEM while it is actually up. How is OEM connect to the database and determine the status? I checked that the listener is up and running and all activities are normal. Where else should I go about investigate to see why the db is showing down state in OEM? Gurus, please advise. Thank you.
