Issue while duplicating a 12c database: ORA-65500

Dear all,

I'm facing a bit frustrating issue in a duplicate between 2 ODAs. May one of you did already struggle with it ;-)

Basically the environment I'm working on has one ODA Prod (ODA1) and one ODA Test (ODA2).

Target would be to refresh the test database on ODA2 from the production one on ODA1. As the databases are not running on the same ODA, we cannot use the snapshot DB feature.

So the alternative is to duplicate the database using RMAN.

I did following:

  • stop test database using srvctl
  • drop the test database using SQLPlus
  • start the test database in NOMOUNT
