set a great value for processes parameter, much greater than the needed (expected) value

Hi Experts,

my question is, how could the processes parameter efect the database if I gave it a high value ?

for example:

processes      = 8000

but the needed actually is (4000)

-----

is that will effect the database performance?

will the database reserve few of memory (initial memory) in PGA for whole (8000) process ?!?!?
