Metadata field not appearing in WCC

I have added a custom metadata field  having a list of values in UCM. Even after adding the field through Configuration Manager, followed by 'Update Database Design', the field does not appear on the UI i.e. check-in page. I have also tried adding it to a Global Rule to display it but to no avail. The field is visible in the DocMeta table though.

I have also tried clearing the cache but it hasn't worked either. The field is visible everywhere except on the UI. It is also available for export through Configuration Migration Bundle.

Any pointers as to why the field is not visible?
