Cancelling a long running query refresh the screen

Hi,

Whenever a long running query is triggered on any BC, a 'retrieving data' pop up comes up after some time which has a cancel button.When the cancel button is pressed,it cancels the query and refreshes the entire view.Could  you please let  me know if theis refreshing of view on cancel operation is a vanilla behavior?
