Spread discount – Nullify previous spread before re-applying new spread discount amount.

Hello – We’re using spread discount functionality with different types( Entire document, Selected items, Online content, Books etc.)

Some of the types  are based on product attribute so that users could apply different discount to different product group using spread discount functionality.

Sometimes business users apply spread discount multiple times but before that they have to manually nullify "manual discount amount" field on the quote line items.

Is there anyway to automatically nullify “manual discount amount” on the quote line items for a specific type before re-running spread discount functionality?

Let’s say I’m re-apply spread discount to product type “Books” but I want system to nullify “manual discount amount” ONLY for type Books automatically before I press "Spread" button. (The system should also adjust "current total" before applying new discount amount)
