Customizing Cost Detail Report (FASCOSTD)

Hello - We'd like to customize the FASCOSTD/ Cost Detail Report to add more columns to it.

Is there a way that we can easily get past the User Exits, and other restraints in the code to see what the existing standard code is doing - in order to replicate it and customize the report based on the standard report?
