Workflow Table Cleanup

Has anyone put a process in place to remove old workflow records?  We used Virtual Approval workflow for years, and then several years ago changed to Approval Framework where available.  We have a LOT of workflows, and the tables are getting huge, and there are a lot of transactions that should probably be deleted.  Need to evaluate what impacts might need to be considered; such as, if INSTSTATUS 2 or greater and the last modified date was more than a year ago, it ought to be able to be deleted.  Would be pretty simple to do with the Virtual Approver
