RMAN Backup of Standby Database

Hi ,

We have implemented Oracle 11gR2 Database and the daily backup is configured using HP Data Protector - Integration Backup.

We also have a Physical Standby DB at the DR Site. We don't have recovery catalog.

Our customer wants to backup the Standby Database. But we found that for implementing HP Data Protector for the Standby Database, a RMAN recovery catalog database is required.

So we plan to take Disk Back up of the Standby database to FRA keeping only one backup (using redundancy 1 & delete obsolete).

I wish to know if its is possible to take Disk Back of the Standby Database without RMAN recovery catalog without impacting the already implemented HP Data Protector backup.

Howdy, Stranger!
