EDI release of blanket order

we have a unique business case where we sent a blanket order out to our trading partner.  then send back an information on what portion of the blanket they will be producing at this time.    this information is used to release a portion of the blanket order and creates the OP Purchase Order.

the business would like this process to be automated via EDI.   we can get the PO information via EDI, but is there a way to release from the blanker order to create the OP purchase order based on the EDI data?
