Can you set up a fiscal date pattern to be less than 52 weeks?

Production is asking if we can set up a new fiscal date pattern of 26 weeks that they would use for forecasting.  They would like to forecast on 26 weeks versus 52 weeks.  Would there be an issue with setting up an additional fiscal date pattern?
