Projects "Pending Closed" and UPPD

Hi,

We have a large number of projects with the status of "Pending Closed" and we find that PRC: Update Project Performance Data takes a significant amount of time to run.  If we update the project statuses to "Closed" will the UPPD ignore these projects and so nicrease performance?

I should mention that we are using 12.0.6
