Delete snmpv3 user and start over?

I hope someone can help me fix this mess. I'm trying to get familiar with Solaris 11, by setting up and securing it on an x86 platform before we start installing it on our SPARC servers. I tried creating an snmpv3 user in Solaris 11 (x86 desktop), with the command suggested in the manual, but something went wrong. (Ok, I confess, I forgot to escape the '!' I tried to use in the password), and it didn't create the account correctly. I tried deleting it from the file /etc/net-snmp/snmp/snmpd.conf, but the password apparently goes elsewhere, because when I try creating
