EAR in exploded way in cluster environment

Hello Experts,

We have a requirement in which customer wants to deploy EAR file in an exploded way using automation.

As per the documentation ear exploded deployment is possible only with Admin server so not sure whether it can be achieved in cluster environment also?.

Please provide your inputs whether exploded deployment for an ear file is possible in cluster environment using automation and if yes please provide some documents which we can refer.
