Unassigned Asset

Hello Experts,

I created an asset and trying to assign unassigned cost to it.  However my list of values for the asset name is not showing asset created by me.  It is showing me two other assets where some cost has already been collected. Upon investigation we found that underlying view "PA_CP_ASSET_NAMES_V" is looking for capital_event_id which is null in case of my asset.

Could someone help me to understand this behavior and explain me standard functionality ?

Asset cost allocation method is set to none.
