Generate Purchase Requisitions automatically from the procurement module

Hi,

Can someone tell me whether it is possible to generate Purchase Requisitions automatically from the procurement module,  without having MRP module.  All  manufacturing related parameters( eg. Min, Max, Re-order level & Qty etc. ) defined in the item master.
