Backordering a Sales Order at the Shipment form!

Backordering a Sales Order at the Shipment Form stage in the process and i do not see if ORACLE supports where you have a sales order with lets say 20+ lines and it has been released to pick which in turn has transferred the Material out of the SUB-Inventory Picking Locators into a Staging locator but then a decision has been made that we do not want to ship the order and so do a Backorder Shipment.

However this leaves the material orphaned in a Stage location!  I would have thought that there would have been functionality that would allow you to transfer the material back out of Staging locations back into the orginal picking location in bulk. Doing this a line at a time is so damn painful?
