OAV-46512: no agent running on host

This is my first attempt configuring the Audit Vault Server. I'm following the steps outlined in the Admin Guide for version 12.1.2.

Steps completed are initial setup, registered the Host to the Audit Vault Server, Deployed the Audit Vault Agent on the Host Computer, Activated and Started the Audit Vault Agent, Created a user account in the target, registered the target

However I  am unable to add an audit trail for the target.

The error received is OAV-46512: no agent running on host     though the command agentctl status on the target host returns agent is activated.

I've confirmed there is not a firewall or switch between the Audit Vault server and the host.
