Prerequisites for Package Build

As noted earlier, the Package Build enhancement is delivered via Tools Release 9.1.5 onwards, and updated objects are in a Planner ESU 9.0 or 9.1.  The Package Build objects are backward compatible but the Tools Release (i.e., Foundation) is not.

Important Rules Regarding the Updated Objects and Foundation

Both the build machine (client or deployment server) and the enterprise server on which packages are built must have the same Tools Release.

If the build machine (client or deployment server) has the updated objects and the Tools Release, but the enterprise server does not contain the enhancement (i.e., pre-9.1.5), the Package Build applications will use the old UBEs to build the package; that is, the client package will be built before the server package and NER generation will occur on the client/deployment server.
