Unable to reclassify an asset in CIP state

I am unable to reclassify - from an asset category  to an expense asset category

Steps

1. Created a CIP asset with category BLDG.IMPROVEMENT ( this category has Capitalize flag checked)

2. Attempted to change category to Expense.Infra ( this category has Capitalize Flag unchecked)

I get the following error

APP-OFA-47863 : You cannot reclassify capitalized assets as expensed items (CALLED_FN=FA_DET_ADD_PKG.VAL_RECLASS) CALLING_FN =FA_ASSET_VAL_Validate_Reclass)

As is obvious - my intention to is reclassify a CIP item into expense items. ( is there any other way ?)
