Attention: To align with new corporate security policies, and to match policies adopted by other communities within Oracle, the My Oracle Support Community access requirements will change beginning September 18, 2025. Amortize Unplanned depreciation: What does it do?

What is the purpose of "Amortize unplanned depreciation" check box in unplanned depreciation window. What happens when we tick that box?

Can anyone explain with a simple example?

I have ticked it on many occasion on test basis but failed to see any amortization in financial inquiry.
