Activity Guide- Task Assigned email notification with a link to student task workcenter.

I am using the delivered notification framework to send an email when the activity guide instance is assigned to the student, with a url that takes them to the Student task workcenter. If the student is already logged in to the environment and clicks on this link in the email it takes them directly to the student task  workcenter and everything is fine.

However, if they are currently not logged into the environment and click on the link in the email it takes them to the  log on page upon entering the credentials it takes them to the student task workcenter , but gives a message "Pagelet needs to be configured. No template id or instance id is available". It does not show the tasks on the task workcenter. It loses the template Id and instance Id.
