Weblogic Admin server on a separate server?

I am just polling to see how other people have done this.

We are installing two brand new servers (VMs), and would like to cluster them at the WebLogic level.  For this we need the WebLogic Admin Server to be visible from both nodes of the cluster.

There are many options to do this but we are thinking of installing the WebLogic Admin Server on a separate third server (VM), accessible from both WebLogic cluster nodes.

Any thoughts on this?!?

How are other people handling this kind of clustering?

If the Weblogic Admin Server is on one of the cluster nodes, if that node goes down how are you handling bringing it up on the other node?
